There is a very special power in learning to let go. By all means decide what you want and go after it but don’t expect to be able to control the process by which it comes to you. The world is far too complex for your conscious mind to take into account every relevant factor [...]

The Electronic Disobedience Syndrome is a name I just made up to introduce the problem.
What I mean by this is generally speaking a weird ‘behaviour’ of electronic equipment in relation to some people, including myself.
It basically means that equipment is not working for me, with no reason. If another person will use it it will work. Same with repairing it. there’s no such chance I can fix the equipment which doesn’t work for me, there’s a chance, though, that someone else can ‘convince’ the electronic device to work for me. I can’t do it myself… It looks like if the device, programme, equipment would have independent ‘mind’ and ‘will’ and refuse to serve me!
The Electronic Disobedience Syndrome (EDS) gets serious at times and the reason I write about it is to get an advice!
- It has annoying impact on my life especially as I study media and make films, so I deal with computers, camcorders etc. on daily basis.
If the equipment or software (the syndrome includes both) doesn’t work I try to fix it and it doesn’t help I get creepy feeling it’s a case of EDS. I have to ask someone else for help. Then people usually think I am just not familiar with technology and do something wrong way. They often tell me what I should do and are not willing to help if I ask them to do it for me! Although it is the only way to deal with a problem! Most of people laugh at it or just think I’m stupid, or that there’s no electricity in the country I come from.
It’s quite obvious why they think such way. What can explain existence of EDS to people not concerned with spirituality, magic or psychic phenomena? The worse of all is that I am often left with no help at all and can’t do my work… frustrating especially if everyone just think I’m simply not competent.
Then even sceptical minds like my sister’s partner who’s scientist and agnostic are helpless in finding any reason for this things to happen. – My sister’s partner claims the weird behaviour of equipment always has a reason… usually very rare, but why it happens so often to one person, he couldn’t work out…
He often watched every single step I was doing and then repeating exactly same action with positive result, although in my case it simply didn’t work and I could try it few times before even asking for help.
I did ask about it one of my friends who is a magician with many years of experience.
He said it’s common problem appearing after Magical working, but he didn’t know what to do about it if it affect life in different circumstances…
I wonder if anyone of you have similar experience or know anything about it.
It makes me even more curious as Anton claims he’s good at fixing not working equipments and he truly did fix things for me already!
Just by touching them or sitting next to the computer!
Well, yeah! Advice and feedback on EDS will be very welcome!

No, this is not magic related. So you might want to skip it.
I bought new music and didn’t care for that anti-hype-hype that includes the dogma that you are better not interested in any band that is well known. Presently many people seem to think that only music that is unknown or rather old can be good. I really enjoy when a DJ plays stuff like "Killing An Arab" for such a reason and discovered a lot of good music that way.
But recently there were some classic "long expected" albums, and well, today I didn’t care that it was not so indie and bought Portishead’s latest record "3rd" and – much less indie even – Metallica’s new one "Death Magnetic".
Maybe some of you don’t care – I said you can skip this – and maybe some don’t dare… to buy these, because we have seen so much disappointing stuff from old heroes so often, and maybe some of you are curious.
This time I am happy, for both records are just great. It’s so simple. You just buy a record and don’t have the feeling you wasted your money but you really just have another great record in your music collection.
Bands of the world! Is it that hard?
First I feel really thankful for Island Records that they brought out that Portishead album. It seems Island Records let Portishead just do whatever they wanted, perhaps because they earn so much with U2’s records that there’s nothing to loose. Portishead sound like a band who just play what they want to play without any compromise. When I listened to it I heard all these sound experiments and thought: when is that dance rock special effect hit coming that they will use these abilities for? – and there wasn’t any. Instead there’s just ATMOSPHERE. They took the Hop out of Trip Hop and now it’s just dark psychedelic alternative music – but nothing to dance to at all. The record sounds very intelligent with what I feel are sophisticated musical jokes every now and then. And it all sounds very intimate and spooky, something you best listen to alone. And you really wouldn’t care what other people say about Portishead – this record is a thing between a listener alone and the band. It sounds as if you had been invited to their basement and they would just play for you alone and you could enjoy the music and smoke and drink what you like.
I liked Portishead from the minute I saw their first video in 1994 when many people said it was crap and I didn’t care – I just loved this music for myself. If you have the ability to be truely alone, then the new Portishead record might be right for you.
Let me just add: IMO the first three songs are not that good, for me the record really starts with the fourth song but from that point on it’s magnificent.
So and what do I say about "Death Magnetic"? Maybe not as much because Metallica get so much attention anyway. Just that I think it’s their best record since over 15 years. It’s very playful and sometimes sounds astounding. My favourite songs are "The End of the Line" and "Suicide and Redemption" so far. The whole record is very playful. I know you could say the same about "St. Anger". But "St. Anger" just lacked all atmosphere and feeling to me, I didn’t like that one at all. "Death Magnetic" is a good modern and classic Heavy Metal record. In 2003 I saw Metallica live (for the 2nd time in my life) and it was obvious that this band is capable of something, just in my opinion that didn’t show on any of the last records. It’s like they really rediscovered their own abilities.
Enough said.
Just wanted to say: it’s not that much of a risk to buy these records as it might seem. Of course that’s a matter of taste. So that’s just my opinion.

Jungian Typology, which was further developed into what is now referred to as the Myers-Briggs Typology Index, has been one of the more important tools for understanding people, including myself. The system has sixteen personality types derived from four binary distinctions. These distinctions are introversion vs. extraversion, sensing vs. intuitive, thinking vs. feeling and judging [...]
